Un-Nooh keen for a break
Share:

Thepchaiya Un-Nooh admits he is eager to have some downtime following a whirlwind week.

The Thai won his first ranking event on Sunday evening, defeating Michael Holt in the final of the Shoot Out in Watford.

Un-Nooh made a terrific 139-clearnace in his semi-final win in Watford, a record contribution for the one-frame format Shoot Out, and became the first Thai player since James Wattana two decades ago to win a ranking event.

There was no time to savour the moment as Un-Nooh was quickly off to the Indian Open on Monday.

He overcame Holt again in his opening match before losing 4-1 to former world champion Graeme Dott.

Un-Nooh admits it was a hectic few days, and he is looking forward to having some time to relax after achieving a career goal with Shoot Out success.

“It’s a huge achievement in my career. It puts me in the Champion of Champions as well. I couldn’t sleep on Sunday night. I was just really happy, then I had to pack my bag to come to India. I can’t wait to get back to the UK, to have some time with my family,” he said.

Un-Nooh is snooker’s quickest player and he has no plans to slow down, having tried and failed previously.

“Before I tried to slow down – take more time to think – but it puts me under more pressure. I can’t play [slowly], I don’t know why. It’s my style, I can’t change,” he added.
