Kyren Wilson vows to keep on going
Share:

Kyren Wilson insists the birth of his second child won’t affect his snooker schedule as he looks to go all the way at the Paul Hunter Classic. The Englishman made easy work of his matches in Germany on Saturday as he claimed three 4-0 victories to book his place in the last 16. Wilson, who is priced at 33/1 to win the World Championships, saw off Kurt Dunham, Jamie Curtis-Barrett and Alan McManus at the ranking event, while putting together five breaks over 50.

The 25-year-old will face compatriot Ian Burns on Sunday for a place in the quarter-finals against Wales’ Michael White or world number one Mark Selby. The Warrior admits it has been tough to adapt to the conditions in Fürth but insists he is happy with his form heading into the final day. Wilson said: “It’s tough here in Fürth because it’s humid so we have to get used to the conditions. But I have played well in all three matches.” The world number 13 is soon to become a dad for the second time but he insists he will stay focused on his snooker with some big events on the horizon.

He added: “After this event I am going to Thailand for the Six Red World Championship, and then to Yushan for the World Open. “I’m just hoping that the baby comes before I go to Thailand, or in between that event and China. My wife has been very good and just told me to get on with playing because snooker is my job. “I’m looking forward to getting stuck into a lot of tournaments. Last season i missed a couple and I felt like I wasn’t a proper snooker player. This time I have vowed to play in everything I can. It’s an exciting time to be a snooker player.”
