There are only eight men left standing in the 2019 World Open. Here is the preview of the quarterfinal round.

The 2019 World Open has begun in earnest, and so far, we had witnessed big upsets, like when Ronnie O’Sullivan was eliminated by Dominic Dale. We have also witnessed sheer moments of brilliance from some of the top snooker players in the world.
The quarterfinal will feature Un-Nooh Thepchaiya take on David Brown Gilbert. David Gilbert, who was the English Open finalist, has undoubtedly been a star performer for the competition. The seasoned snooker player thrashed his opponent, Anthony McGill, to secure safe passage into the last-16.
It was a simple and emphatic win for David Gilbert, which is good morale to take into the round of eight. His opponent, Thepchaiya, is no pushover. The 34-year-old Thai snooker player is currently ranked 37 in the world and will definitely pose a huge threat to David Gilbert.

The next fixture is a clash between Kyren Wison and Zhou Yuelong.
Kyren Wilson defeated Jack Lisowski in a convincing fashion to reach the quarterfinal with a 5-1 triumph.

The 27-year-old English snooker player has been in splendid form since the tournament began. In his game against Lisowski, Kyren Wilson recorded centuries of 108 and 102 on his way to an emphatic win.

Wilson will now face Zhou Yuelong next after the 21-year-old Chinese player eliminated Ali in a 5-2 thrashing.

Zhou Yuelong has been equally impressive in the tournament so far. He is currently the only Chinese player still in the tournament after Ding Junhui was eliminated. The young snooker star who is currently ranked 38 in the world will not find it easy against Kyren Wilson.

Judd Trump will go up against Michael Holt in a titanic clash in the round of eight. Judd Trump will fancy his chances against Holt. However, Holt is definitely not going to be easy for Juddernaut.

The final quarterfinal match will be between Stuart Bingham and John Higgins. John Higgins secured his passage to the last-32 of the Zhiyuan World Open after securing a win over China’s Lu Ning. H successfully progressed the last eight and will face stiff opposition in Bingham

Judd Trump is fancied at 2.25 to win the World Open, while Kyren Wilson is favoured at 6.00
