Brown hoping for one better at Q-School
Share:

Jordan Brown will be hoping he can go a step further on the final day of the second Q-School event in Burton on Friday.

The English potter fell at the final hurdle in the first event last week but he’s in the mix once more in the second of three Q-School opportunities to gain a two-year playing card on the main snooker tour. Brown faces former World Championship semi-finalist Andy Hicks in his first game on Friday, with both men requiring two more wins to get their card. There are 16 names still in the hat starting into the final day in Burton, with only four cards on offer. Either Hicks or Brown will advance to take on James Cahill or two-time ranking event finalist Jamie Cope in the concluding round at Q-School.

Hicks is a slight favourite at 1.75 to get the better of Brown in their best-of-seven dust down, with the latter priced at 1.95. Hicks was forced to win the final two frames on Thursday in his clash with John Pritchett to grab a 4-3 success. Cope meanwhile is a solid favourite at 1.55 going into his match with Cahill. He made break of 75 and 66 in getting the better of Farakh Ajaib 4-2 in their fourth round clash on Thursday.

Elsewhere on Friday, India’s Lucky Vatnani will be up against experienced Craig Steadman, while China’s Zhao Xintong, seeking a quick rebound having been relegated off the main tour at the end of the season, meets Austria’s Andreas Ploner.
